Gogo turns 90 on Youth Day

While the country was commemorating the heroes of June 16, 1976, a 90 year old gogo in Mabopane received a wheelchair as a present on the day.
Ward 21 councillor Joel Sindane donated the wheelchair on behalf of the ANC on Thursday.
Gogo Mokgadi Motsei, who had previously suffered two strokes and once went blind, was unable to walk on her own because of the last stroke she suffered. The wheelchair will help her move around when she needs to. She was always indoors, sleeping, and never went out to sit in the sun because she had no means of moving around. This is according to her eldest daughter, Ms. Mpho Motsei.
Born on 16 June, 1921, gogo Motsei has seven children, 26 grandchildren and six great grand children.
“Nothing beats prayer and it is because of God’s grace I have lived this long.” she said.
She was surrounded by family, friends and neighbours who only had good things to say about her. Sindane said Gogo Motsei’s situation was brought to his attention by Motsei’s daughter, Ms Mpho.
